Baton Charge!

Oh man, now we're talkin! Nothing like some skull cracking on a Friday to set the tone for the weekend! In a sort of exclusive, I bring you the video that got people talking today(although less than I would have thought). Its RTE news footage of the Gardai vs. The People of Mayo batin' match that took place today.

There's a nice big dollop of hypocrisy at the start, served up by local teacher Sheila MeDeala. She wishes to travel down her tax paid road but the "cops" are stopping her. My dear, would this be the same road the Shell to Sea campaigners are constantly blocking on a daily basis?

Then we get some feisty protesters shouting and screaming, the likes of which havent been heard since Effin Eddie's brave attempts to commentate on the Nenagha vs. Aherlow match many moons ago.

I'd give the guards a 3 out of 10 score on the Rodney King beating scale; there weren't enough people hospitalised; where was Robocop when you needed him!

Don't anyone give me a hard time; the Guards did the right thing, they removed a dangerous nuisance from the public road; and the protestors are martyrs for their cause, isnt that what protesting is all about, sacrifice? I'd call it a draw.

Note: I streamed the rm files from the RTE it using this free piece of software, in case you need such a program... vlan doesnt like to work for me.
