I used do that a lot for a while. Newtel were plaguing my mother in law despite her asking them to stop so I used dial their freephone number (which always meant I was on hold for over 20 mins) and put it on speakerphone. I'd dial the number again on another phone and put it on speakerphone as well. It used be amusing to hear them going "that's our hold music , what's happening?".
Another good tack was to ring them and ask to speak to the person who paid the phone bill. Hearing their own type of phraseology used freak them out...
A weency bit of revenge for the little guy against those phone spammers..
