Another lame, half-arsed, report on Prime Time, on RTE 1 tonight. A "mighty" war was fought between a man in a suit and a Russian, against a guy with whisky lips and some other fella in America. Slobbery "whisky lips" was trying to convince us that SUV's are pure evil and are only owned by people who share 99% of their DNA with Hitler, Ted Bundy and Ronald McDonald. According to him, SUV's are only bought by soccer moms wishing they had a sausage growing in their trousers, seeking the extra power and status, to "crush" the lesser mortals on and off the road. Now that I think of it, Slobber man was the head of some organisation, "love-child of planet earth" or something. People buy SUV's for one simple reason: Irish roads are shit!
SUV's are for off road use, except in Ireland where off-road is exactly how to describe 90% of on-road experience. I don't drive and SUV, I dont want to drive an SUV but I can understand people who do. I am sick of having my car in the garage because some fucking pothole bust it! What kind of civilised country, who exclusively relies on road transport to drive the economy, has shit roads in this day and age. Fucking glorified donkey tracks is all we have! A bit of an auld motorway here and there, that you have to pay for! Jesus Christ, I'm fuming at the thought of it all! I'm nearly sorry I ordered an eco-friendly TSI engine instead of a Golf R32, just to burn those slobbery-lipped crusty fuckers off the road!
Here's what I dont get with global warming. If it is indeed caused by fossil fuel usage, then so what? Fossil fuels are finite and will be exhausted relatively soon, at least the easily refined ones will be. Are you trying to convince us that all fossil fuel stocks wont eventually be used up, ever? I mean if we stretch out the last few bits of fuel for an extra 50 years or something, what does that gain us in the long run? We've still used up the same amount of fuel just over a longer period. It's not like we're putting the planet on a diet where it can metabolise a smaller amount of green house gas at a time. Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe it can, but if it can, then why cant it metabolise a greater load over a longer time; like a crash diet when all the fossil fuels are used?
I think tis all bollocks! Volcano's produce gross amounts of greenhouse gas, should we think about plugging them all up? The planet has warmed up and cooled down umpteen times in the past, regardless of our existence or not. Theres a wobble in the planets movement or something, the magnetic poles are currently is a state of change and will flip in a hundred years time, do you think driving an SUV will change this. Bollocks, absolute crusty bollocks!
