Using the KSC Glock 18c at about 6mtrs. Notice the nice crisp entry points, but with a satisfying exit wound on the reverse. Not much power in the shot but a good muzzle velocity. Will put a hole in a coke can if the can is held otherwise shots will just keep denting it until they rip it apart.

Don't get me wrong here now, I like the post but I'm just kind of thinking that girls - the object of most guy's desires - might be somewhat freaked out by the whole gun thing... then again, I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again.

You know, you might be right, but I realised a while back that its impossible to gauge exactly what people will think. I never "engineer" posts to directly affect peoples perceptions of me. I write to entertain them perhaps, but never for them to love or hate me through controversy. It's been a long time since I've seen this blog as a kind of "online dating agency profile", and even if I still did I wouldn't change what I write. Whether people love me or hate me or just end up being disinterested, I hope that they acknowledge the thread of honesty running through what I write. ReplyDeletethe matter. That's not to say that the reader should always take what I write so seriously. As you yourself mentioned I have quite a diverse and multifaceted character. Therefore for someone to come along and judge me completely based on a handful of random postings would be unfortunate, for both parties concerned. I write about such diverse topics that I doubt that
I will ever get a reader who likes everything I post.
Anyway, about the guns. I actually bought these Airsoft guns with I money I got in return for selling some real firearms I owned. I haven't gone shooting in years
and I no longer have an interest in shooting for real (if you want to put it that way). Plus its become hard to find a spot now where you can just head out safely with a gun. You could be in the middle of Connemara and suddenly happen upon a housing estate, with a load of townies ringing the guards saying "Theres a man out on the moors with a gun, I think he's a paedophile". Irish people have a terrible perception of firearms, we're just
not used to them. The only time most people hear a gun mentioned is in the news with someone being shot dead. Contrast that with the attitude in America which being honest, is just madness! I still have a post I need to finish outlining why gun control in America needs to be drasticly tightened. Airsoft is much more fun that real guns anyway. How else could you wake up in the morning, still in your underpants, and start shooting tin cans off the TV set. Try that with a shotgun and see how far it gets you!
Of course I'd love every girl to be mad about me, and rejection online is nearly as bad as in real life, but if a girl freaks out cos I fired a few BB's at biscuits in the garage then I can't help that. In the three years I've been posting on this blog, these have been the first decent posts I've made about guns. I post about nice fluffy things like ballet all the time but I've yet to see girlies lining up to be "freaked out" by me. My guess is, it doesnt matter what I write :)
