Eurovision - 2008
It's a pity the Lithuanian act (above) didn't get into the finals tonight. I could have done with another laugh. We always have youtube I guess.
I quite like the Turkish entry, "Deli" by Mor ve Ötesi (Purple and beyond). I've included an acoustic version below, that I found in my youtube travels. It's almost better than the original.
No idea who will win. I'll be interested to see how well France do. "Divine" is an extremely French sounding electronica pop song, in the same vein as Air or light Daft Punk. Hope it does well (for the sake of variety) :)
[UPDATE] lol that French song didn't sound too great live. And I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought he looked like John Waters :)

ReplyDeleteWell, the overtly political Easternblockovision draws to a close for another heavily biased year which saw the Baltic states lube each other up and deep throat each other in yet another turgid display of political butt fucking.
ReplyDeleteI don't care that the UK lost, but what was once an enjoyable music contest is now just some show that is financially supported by the UK, France, Germany and Spain, and overrun by awful, pasty faced, malnourished ex Russian states who all suck each others cocks at our expense.
I think I predicted about 75% of the top marks based on the current trend of Eastern bloc mutual rimming.
Boycott 2009. Withdraw funding, and hats off to the Irish who clearly (and literally) shoved two fingers up at the cunts :o)
BTW, I thought Turkey was the best on the night. Very Muse-esque, but most enjoyable.
The UK entry never deserved last place. Sure it wasn't the most amazing tune but Andy Abraham is a quality singer, and it was all an awful lot better than most of the shite there.

Yeah Mor ve Ötesi were very like MUSE, I didn't want to mention it myself though in case I came across biased :)
