Send Mary Harney The Shotgun

Isn't it about time that the person who sent Mary Harney the shotgun shell at the start of the year, now also send her the shotgun to go along with it? Maybe after downing a bottle of tequila she could ring up Bertie Ahern and start "cribbing and moaning" about the economy. Bertie might give her some good advice about what to do with the shotgun.

How in gods fuck, can anyone justify taking money away from preventive medicine? The jab works, it actually prevents cervical cancer in women by destroying the HPV in infected women. It's not hocus pocus, some kind of sugar pill placebo, its actual fact! It will save lives and saves money in the future, because cancer care is far more expensive! Harney needs to go this time, one way or another!

To be honest, I'm fairly sceptical about this whole jab controversy. We Irish have a history of pressuring our politicians into foolish demands (remember the iodine tablets?). I don't know anything about this vaccine, but I hope that it's properly sussed out before we go injecting our pre-teens with drugs.

Your love for Mary Harney astounds me, it truly does! First it was defense for her actions against magic mushrooms, then the HSE, now this. Whatever about the first two, this one in particular has no argument.

"I don't know anything about this vaccine, but..." has all the hallmarks of cretinism.

Regarding iodine tablets: I remember it well. I can still hear people laughing at Joe Jacob's radio appearances when he tried to peddle the idea. Not only was it stupid but so badly organised that many households never got tablets they were meant to be issued, leading to the "how come number 17 got there's but we got none" phenomenon. Thats about the only "foolish demand" I heard people come out with concerning the issue. No one wanted them, but if your taxes were spent on their distribution, you damn well wanted your own pills!
