Need Help Identifying This Mobile Phone!!!

[ UPDATE: 09.11.2012 It's a Motorola A130. The mystery was solved some years ago, by the nice people in the comments, and by finding the instruction booklet belonging to it. ]
I desperately need to find out the exact model number of this old Motorola mobile phone. It was the first pre-pay phones to be sold in Ireland by Eircell (Vodaphone). It was the first phone I owned but its now long since gone, as is the model number from my head. I found the pic on this Electric Picnic Forum thread, but I cant seem to register there to ask the question directly. Help is needed from the readerz or I may just bust my gut! The Power of Attorney to the person with the info!!!
Ebay Seller Reselling Newspaper DVD's
I was having a look around Ebay for some novelty Christmas pressies (cheap gimp masks and silocone butt fillets) when I came across an Irish user reselling the DVD's given out free by newspapers such as the Daily Mail and The Sunday Times, at over €3 a pop!
They have multiple copies of each too! Now, I dont care much for the facts regarding the legality of such reselling but surely nobody would buy these yokes for €3, right? Well according to some of the recent feedback, people have een happily buying "Newspaper DVD's" off this user for the past 6 months!
So where is this seller situated exactly? Why Cork, of course! Aparently they had a blog once, according to a link on ebay, but its now defunct. Who knows, they could be reading this right now! They might even be that woman who rejected the tickets to the LateLate Toy show last Friday, but with the way they seem able to hock anything around the house, I doubt they'd have given up the oppertunity to sell a pair of golden tickets.
An inspiration to us all, in these times of recession!
Moar George Lee Segway pr0n!!

Oh its like Christmas already. First the video, now the picture. I'm still desperate for that "George Segways to work" shot though.

George Lee Pitches the Segway
Ha! You bitches didnt belive me when I said [unpublished blog post] George Lee rides a Segway to work. Thanks to Gavin, here's a video of him showing how much he loves it!
I am still desperately searching for a pic of Lee riding his Segway to work, with his luminous vest and cycle helmut. I saw a pic months back in the Daily Mail... still kicking myself that I didnt take it when I had the chance.
CFL... More Music From Me

Music I wrote for the unsuccessfull feature film I also made, "CFL". This was actually written seperate to the movie but I finished it during the editing of the video so the two got put together. As such, it's still unnammed but "CFL" might stick.
All done in Reason. The drum track was the trickiest. It's made up of multiple takes of me performing live. No quantising this time, but lots of manual editing. The other tracks were played live also. As the production went on, the melodic parts became more well defined so I ended up constantly recording parts as the tune got tighter.

Microphone Fellatio
I wanted to come up with a clever title for this post but I drew a blank... there's plenty of stuff to use, something like "This mic has loads of head-room" or similar. It's performed by Polish artist, Wojciech Kosma. I love it actually... reminds me of something by Hans Giger.

Why can't spam at least make some fucking sense!!! I caught this mother fucker in the middle of a spam session at 9 this morning. He got in about 35 comments, which I had to manually remove. The dirty fucking langball!
The Truth Will Out
Watch this...
.... then this.
Looks like CNN is just as shit as FOX. People are so fucking gullible. I dont even like Bush but it was obvious from the first video what was going on, if you just opened your fucking eyes. This is why I hate religion; followers blindly swallowing what ever their preacher ejaculates, when the truth is there for them to see.

Einstein was right, or at least, his theory of Special Relativity was anyway. General Relativity is still waiting to get the golden handshake.
[Yahoo News Story : Via The Wow Report : The "Expert's" at /.]
"A brainpower consortium led by Laurent Lellouch of France's Centre for Theoretical Physics, using some of the world's mightiest supercomputers, have set down the calculations for estimating the mass of protons and neutrons, the particles at the nucleus of atoms. ... [T]he mass of gluons is zero and the mass of quarks is only five per cent. Where, therefore, is the missing 95 per cent? The answer, according to the study published in the US journal Science on Thursday, comes from the energy from the movements and interactions of quarks and gluons. ... [E]nergy and mass are equivalent, as Einstein proposed in his Special Theory of Relativity in 1905."

Skanger Ballet

Rte started a new ballet flaoured show this evening, with Monica Loughman as host. The show's called "Ballet Chancers" and it had its first episode this evening. I didn't see it but I'm sure it was brutal. irish HipityHopity kids learning ballet... yeah cos Irelands got that whole Harlem thing down.
I swipped an article about the show in this weeks RTEGuide, and I hoovered few pics I hoovered up around the RTE website. I'll try and harvest the real media files of the episodess when theyre up.
[Props go out my my main dog Carrigaline for alerting me to this shizzel]
Incadesant/CFL Debate On The LiveLine This Week
As if by quantum co-incidence, there was a bit about the "light bulb ban" and CFL's on the LiveLine this week. One woman said CFL makes her skin blister. Ciaran Cuffe, of the Green Party, retorted this and claimed that CFL's were lovely and fluffy and not a bit harmful. Listen to the podcast here:

I Bricked My Phone
I killed my Nokia N73 last night, right before I was about to give my number out to the sexy bitches online (which sexy bitches? All of them my dear!). I was doing a firmware update cos it had started to slow down a lot recently. In the middle of it the Nokia updater said it had lost communication with the phone and told me to disconnect it, take out the battery etc. and connect it up again. It worked the first time... then a few minutes after that it lost communication again. Once again it told me to disconnect it etc... this time after reconnecting it the whole lot froze and I was left with a Nokia paper weight.
Ah well, I was going to get a new one soon enough anyway, but I just wish the N73 was still working. So I bought a Nokia 6500 Slide this morning. So far I like it a lot. It's only a Series 40 so that means I cant get the real fancy apps for it. But Series 40 means its got a quicker responce time compared to the more bloated series 60. And its got a 3.2MP camera, which doesnt have a manditory flash when you take a pic (unlike the N73), so some fun times ahead heehee :)
The UK's Emergeny Plan For Broken Light Bulbs
Why wasnt this included in our national emergency plan booklet this year!? I mean its sounds just as good as "in case of fire in the building; run away". It's those pesky CFL's again, very evil to the environment!

The fallacy of the CFL
I originally started writing this in January of this year. It has been saved as a draft, awaiting further reflection and completion, since then. I have decided to publish it as is. Some points are unfinished, paragraphs wander off, analogies unrefined and lacking competent argument... but the core of what I say is true. Over the year I have heard others argue the same points as I.So they want to ban the humble incandescent lamp by this time next year, but is this just another radical "Green" token suggestion to make the Green Party seem like theres a reason for them being in power. As a CFL user and supporter it comes at great pain to say that this is something we should reject completely.
The world is fucked, or so say the environmentalists. We must alter our consumption lifestyle before the world is terminally thermally damaged. We are told that by switching to CFL's we can help make a change.
Imagine if you will that Frankenstein lives somewhere near Kerry. He loves to re-animate the dead every Friday night. He puts a huge strain on the electrical supply grid. His electrical consumption dwarfs that of any normal household but he uses CFL lamps exclusively, so therefore he is "greener" than another lesser electrical user with a few incandescent lamps scattered around his house.
By in large you cant directly increase green house gases by using electricity in your home. There is no process (bar say, a chemistry experiment) where upon the application of electricity a toxic gas is produced. Once electricity is created it is extremely "green". How you use it is irrelevant. There is nothing toxic about having an incandescent bulb in your house. The same can not be said of the CFL which contains dangerous gases and amounts of mercury. When you take into account of the vast costs associated with disposing of these dangerous items, the costs of replacing incompatible light fittings, one has to really question the benefits of CFL's carbon footprint and environmental impact.
So how you use electricity isn't the big baddie they make out. Instead emphasis should be placed on how much electricity you use, because the more thats produced the more green house gas thats created. The Greens should concentrate their energy on introducing a total [Not sure where this was leading]
There is already an elegant system in place to encourage you to reduce your strain on the grid: its called your ESB bill. If you use a lot, if youre a power hog, then your bill will reflect this. It is a beautiful example of the much spoke of "the polluter pay's" system. While the process of slapping on TAX's willy-nilly disgust me, it would make a lot more sense to TAX the charge for a kilowatt hour than ban a harmless lamp and force people to use a more dangerous replacement. If the Greens were serious about saving the environment, they would [insist on greater governmental investments into green energy production]
Logically, the simple fact is: If all our current power supplies were generated solely by renewable means, incandescent lamp use would not increase green house gases. It would in fact make environmental sense to use incandescents instead of CFL's.
Sony DCR-HC51E MiniDV Camcorder
I bought one of these recently off Komplett..ie for €169. I needed a new cheap camcorder since my last Toshiba SD Card thingy decided to stop working. I thought it might have needed a few extra volts to get going so instead of the 3.7 volts it took from the recharagable battery I put 24v across it from a power supply... yay sparks are pretty! :)
I decided to go for a MiniDV cam because I always wanted one and this one was extremely cheap Sony. Don't buy this one in the City though, some shops are charging €250+ for it. You get all the basics with it, power and a/v cables. Butht the firewire/ilink cable is something you'll have to get seperately. [as an aside, I can't believe Apple are killing off Firewire in favor of USB. It was the one decent thing they ever came up with themselves. Surpreior to USB in many ways in fact. I guess Apple charging PC makers a patent fee each time they supplied a Firewire port in a machine did kind of hobble its acceptence across platforms....silly old Apple.... their greed will catch up with them eventually].
A quick review in points: It's cheap but very plasticy. A fair amount of manual controls (spot meter, spot focus, manula focus etc) but no wheels so its all done via the touch-screen interface (very smooth though). Acceptable optics and zoom. Colour viewfinder (hopefully this will never be dropped from camcorders in favor of LCD screens only). Small, light, handy.... did I mention cheap! :)
Video output isn't spectatcular, that was obvious, but its still very acceptable. Given the right lighting conditions it can perform quite well. I've shot a fair bit of crappy video since getting it and I put few test shots I did with it mucking around in work one day into a little movie [I'm putting it online, you'll know it when you see it ;)]. The major weak point that I've expierienced with it is its transport mechanism. I might have just gotten a bad batch of tapes but theyres a fair amount of digital jitter and artifacts on playback. Nothing savage but once or twice I did have to recapture video a second time over the i.link to get a cleaner copy.
Nice though, and very happy with it. Small and handy, and cheap :)

Send Mary Harney The Shotgun

Isn't it about time that the person who sent Mary Harney the shotgun shell at the start of the year, now also send her the shotgun to go along with it? Maybe after downing a bottle of tequila she could ring up Bertie Ahern and start "cribbing and moaning" about the economy. Bertie might give her some good advice about what to do with the shotgun.
How in gods fuck, can anyone justify taking money away from preventive medicine? The jab works, it actually prevents cervical cancer in women by destroying the HPV in infected women. It's not hocus pocus, some kind of sugar pill placebo, its actual fact! It will save lives and saves money in the future, because cancer care is far more expensive! Harney needs to go this time, one way or another!

SX-150 Analog Synthesizer Kit

Saw this on sale in Japan a while back via MAKE:blog. Then later again via nitro2k01. It's a nandy dandy little synth that has a basic filter thingy and amp envelope whatsit! Pitch is achieved via the pen stylus jobber!

It was only ever available in Japan but MAKE are now selling it in America.

Instructions are in Japanese but theres no soldering involved so it's super easy to make. And with a little bit of work, it's midi compatable! Think I might get me one for Christmas (as long as they ship out of the US).

I'm Giving Obama One Year
So (nearly) everyone is all excited and happy and crying that Obama will be the next President of the USA. And indeed it is great; great that a man with some native African DNA in his make-up is going to be president of the most powerful country in the world. It is a clear sign of how far things have come since the times of Kunta Kinte, and the toe-chopping white slave-masters. But what now for the prince of charisma? What master plan will he unleash to set the world straight? What will happen once the "I have a dream..." speeches stop, and he has to knuckle down to actual diplomacy and national problems?
You see, no matter how much you want to bang him, ladies, Barrack Obama is a politician and therefore will ultimately fail. We've seen it all before: Tony Blair, heralded as the Labor Saviour when elected to power in Britain in the 1990's... ended up being called a war monger and pooch poodle to GW Bush. His successor, one Mr. Gorden Browne, was thought to be someone who would turn around the opinions of the current Labor government. He has in fact only made things worse. In Ireland, Bertie Ahern, once seen as the man of the people, he who could do no wrong, the “Teflon-Taoisach” surrounded by his "smokes & daggers", is now slowly being shown up for what he really was and is: a criminal. Again like in the UK, high hopes were had for a fresh start with Brian Cowen, and again, we are left wondering are we in the frying pan or the fire. Even Hitler when elected in Germany, was seen in the same light as Obama is today.
So thats why I don't share in this jubilation over a man being elected to the White House across the ocean. I acknowledge what he signifies and it is truly great, but I still only give him a year before people call for his head. If I'm wrong, and he makes it through 8 years with the people calling for more, then my humility will be the least of everyones concerns. For without a doubt, if we see this man stay true to his word and conviction, then we will have lived through an era in which we can safely say, that we have witnessed one of the greatest politician's ever to have governed anywhere in the world.
