Christmas Goodies

A few bits I picked up so that I'd have something to open on Christmas day.

Three CD's:
  • The Orchestral Works of Toru Takemitsu, a 20th Century Japanese composer.
  • H'art Songs by Moondog. A wonderful album of sweet little tunes.
  • The Last Rebel, soundtrack. Music by Jon Lord & Tony Ashton for a 1971 Western. The movie is awful apparently.
A book on midi orchestration, covering both real life orchestration and how to make virtual instruments sound right in a sequencer. From the bits I've read so far it seems to be a great read. Nothing is taken for granted but the level of technique extends into levels for the fully experienced composer. Teaches theory and practical application. When I'll be able to practice some of the stuff is a different story, I'm all over the place at the minute.
