Porpellerhead Software: "record"
Hmmm... so this is what all the hubbub was about: a new DAW from Propellarhead, in the same vein as Reason. As the name suggests it lets you "record" tracks and is based on the idea of making it easy for "musicians not engineers" to record and arrange music. Well thats good I suppose. Crucially though, if you already have Reason installed it becomes fully integrated with it. Now at the outset thats pretty fucking cool; pretty much what everyone on the planet wanted, but before I see it actually in action with Reason directly, I'll be holding back some of my enthusiasm. I personally wouldn't have much use for this DAW unless all the effects such as time stretching etc. are totally usable and flexible within Reason itself. It they are though, and it's as good as they promise, I'll be totally jizzing in my pants when it's released in September!
I've signed up for beta testing the product, I won't hold my breath though.
