"Charlie Bird here, reporting from a country devastated by natural disaster. Hospitals are under pressure to treat the ill, medics and resources are in short supply. The infrastructure here was poor to begin with, but after the catastrophe roads have been destroyed and are practically impassable, water supplies have been cut off. The government is struggling to cope with recent events, compounding this is the corruption seeping through it over the years. Poverty and debt are crippling those who have managed to escape from physical trauma... but enough about Ireland, I have to fly out to Haiti now, a country suffering the effects of a massive earthquake.
