At Comic-Con this year, the stars of the forthcoming Total Recall remake made an appearance. The trouble is, no-one could tell them apart. Here is Jessica Biel and Kate Beckinsale, not that you'd notice. Perhaps they have the same mother... or plastic surgeon.
Even Colin Farrell has a lookalike. Thankfully that's just the director and won't be appearing in the film.
I hate when films cast two similar looking actors together, it always confuses me, especially if I've only been watching it with my ears. Given the storyline of Total Recall and the two characters Biel and Beckensale, perhaps looking alike is all part of it. Whatever, as long as the "two weeks" woman is in it, a lot of people will be happy. I wonder if the three breasted woman will now have four breasts or something similarly silly. Going by the raft of PG-13 films being pumped out of Hollywood I think the poor woman might have none!

ReplyDeleteI blame Len Wiseman - I think he's one of these directors (Matthew Vaughan is another one) who turns all his actresses into clones of one another.
I once stayed at a hotel which was also hosting a plastic surgeons' convention. It was very difficult to tell the wives apart. You'd think there'd be one plastic surgeon there with a bit of originality.
In Ireland, a lot of us look the same anyway, but this is due to inbreeding (small gene pool) rather than plastic surgery.

ReplyDeleteTo be fair to the Irish gene pool, even larger societies develop similar traits. Studies show that intellect and emotion play an important role in general appearance. I wonder if the overall Irish attitude has shaped our faces.
I'm not sure if I made the comment on your blog, but I definitely planned to, about how radically different Kate Beckinsale looks between her 20's and 30's. I think I did actually. Eitherway, perhaps a blogpost is needed on the topic.
I thought the one on the left was that one from Lost.....can't remember her name now. Angeline? Evangeline? Clone B?

ReplyDeleteThere's no difference to her face, facial features, or the shape of her face except she now wears makeup, fake tan, is older, and is not as thin. Plus she had her teeth whitened. Other than that, she looks exactly like an older version of her younger self. She's far, far hotter now than she was in her 20s. Do you honestly think you're going to look the same a decade from now? Get a clue. People's appearance changes. It's called age.
