The Majestic Artwork Of The Olympic Games

On the left, the famous poster for the 1936 Berlin Olympic games, and on the right, some official artwork for the 2012 London Olympics. Here is some of what has been written about it:
In the darkest area of Howard Hodgkin's Swimming artwork (pictured), a figure can just about be made out. Organisers say the "fluidity" of the brushstrokes "captures the movement of water and the sensation of swimming". Hodgkin describes his work as "representational pictures of emotional situations."
So there you have it. The frog-baby in the bottom right makes it art, worthy of another CBE no doubt. If you would like to view some other "masterpieces" you can view them here at the BBC [via]. I am begining to wonder if the 2007 artwork, dismissed as being a Goatse joke, was actually a serious entry after all! [via]
